Private Art Tuition

My creative practice is a path of research and self discovery, something that brings me closer to the essence of who I am. Part of that journey is understanding and refining what I want to create and why.

I have given talks at the Courtauld Institute of Art, been a visiting tutor and lecturer at Brighton University and am a tutor at the Essential School of Painting where I provide students with guidance on their creative practice and teach technical courses in oil painting, colour mixing and light logic in painting. I have an MA in painting from the Royal College of art and also studied Old Master painting techniques at the Angel Academy in Florence.

As well as being a visual artist I am also a certified Ashtanga yoga teacher. My twelve year journey with yoga, breath, movement and sound is very connected to my creative practice, and has led me to being the Oxford Centre for Hindu studies artist in residence where I am sharing and exploring ideas around yoga, tantra, ritual practice and its relationship to visual material.

If you are interested in one to one tuition and seeing how we could work together please book a half hour zoom meeting where we will look at and talk through your work and discuss how you would like to develop your painting practice. Sessions can take place in zoom or in person at my studio.

"In one session I mixed the best palette I had in a whole year of painting!"  Lou Mumford, painting student.

I offer one to one sessions with painters interested in developing their practice technically or These sessions are an opportunity to guidance in encouraging, taking risks, expressing refining your practice, talking through and developing ideas .

Rosanna is a wonderful tutor and mentor. She is very thoughtful, warm, and engaged. She has a deep knowledge of art history and painting techniques as well as contemporary art, films and culture, and has offered really stimulating inputs and reflections which have stretched my painting practice.

I feel very lucky to have had Rosanna as a tutor at a point in my practice where I’ve been moving into unknown and at times quite vulnerable territory.

Working with her has given me more courage to be true to myself and trust in what is emerging. I can imagine the process would have been much harder and less fun without her. I would highly recommend her as a creative mentor.
