Rosanna is an artist and educator based in London.
She holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, and trained in Old Master techniques at Angel Academy of Art, Florence.

Her teaching experience spans beginners to artists preparing for practice based PHDs, developing artists, portfolio students, and professional practitioners seeking sustained critical dialogue around their work.
5yrs+ Tutor at The Essential School of Painting, visiting lecturer at Brighton University, The Courtauld Institute of Art, and is an Associate Artist at Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies.
Alongside her teaching practice, she has maintained an active professional painting practice for over fifteen years exhibiting in the Uk and abroad.

About
Rosanna Dean is an artist and educator based in London. She studied at the Royal College of Art and The Angel Academy Florence. She has taught at the Essential School of Painting, and has been a visiting lecturer at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Brighton University and works with artists across levels to develop both technical skill and critical understanding. Her work is informed by both rigorous studio practice and art historical research and her approach is grounded in close looking, material sensitivity, and the belief that painting develops through sustained attention and reflection.

Art can be a powerful tool for discovery, attention, and transformation. Alongside technical development, I encourage students to cultivate curiosity, confidence, and a deeper connection to their creative process.

These sessions include :

This is encouraged for students wanting to make focused progress and I recommend having a session every two weeks for 5 sessions at a time.
